A digital museum of five modernist chairs from the steel revolution, 1925–1930 — the Wassily, MR10, LC3, Barcelona and Brno — each presented as a work of art you can explore in 3D.

Process

Conceived as both curator and developer, the project treats each chair as a museum piece with its own scroll-driven narrative. The chair first draws itself as a blue technical blueprint and then materializes as a solid object through real-time clipping planes. The camera travels to its construction details, the piece separates into structure and surface in an exploded view, and the visitor can switch upholstery, metal finishes and lighting live — chrome only reads as chrome when it reflects a well-designed room, so the lighting was built as a custom studio environment. Behind it sits a generic experience engine: every chair is a single configuration file, and the same code builds all five pages. The original 3D models were optimized from 44 MB down to 4 MB through mesh simplification and compression. The visual system follows the Bauhaus grammar — primary shapes, flat color and geometric typography — and the site ships in four languages with localized routes and automatic language detection.
